On December 9, the 15th “Soonchunhyang Cup” Korean Speech Contest, hosted by Anhui Provincial Department of Education and organized by Hefei University and Soonchunhyang University, was successfully held in HFU. Wang Qidong, Chair of HFU Council, and Jin Chengyu, President of Soonchunhyang University(South Korea) delivered speeches respectively for its commencement. Three Professors from Soonchunhyang University, Li Zaihao, Piao Genshun and Zhang Youmei, judged the competition.
With the theme of “My Future and China-South Korea Relations”, the contest conducted online with such two sessions as “speech video selection” and “online oral quiz”, has attracted many college students in Anhui province. The judges asked the 20 contestants advancing to the second session questions according to their speeches, which tested their oral expression and critical thinking ability. Finally, Li Xueru from Anhui Foreign Languages University won the Grand Prize for her outstanding performance.
The year of 2022 witnesses the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, so the successful holding of the 15th Speech Contest will further improve the Korean teaching in local colleges and universities as well as college students’ application ability of Korean language, and contribute to the educational cooperation and exchange between Anhui province and South Korea. HFU will continue its efforts to provide a better platform for college students to show themselves and communicate with each other and actively promote cultural exchanges and educational cooperation between China and South Korea to enhance the friendship between the two peoples.
